Real suede, with leather where it carries. The body is genuine Italian suede with a soft matte nap, and the handles are pebbled full-grain leather. A patch inside reads TAKEASY GENUINE LEATHER MADE IN ITALY. The scent of the suede is strongest in the first days and eases with air, and pressure marks in the pile brush back into place.
