Vintage Florida State University Pennant (circa 1950s)
Description
A rare piece of vintage Florida State University history from the 1950s available in your choice of Black, Mahogany, or Light Wood frame. Framed in U/V glass and cut mat.
Originating in 1902, Florida State University's football team played for 3 seasons from 1902-1904 before the team was disbanded as the school became Florida State College for Women (FSCW) in 1905. Over the next couple decades, FSCW existed as one of the largest and most prestigious women's colleges of the South until it became coeducational again in 1947, changing it's name to Florida State University (FSU) as we know it today. This piece is from the first decade following FSU's official debut as a coeducational school.
